Shivananda Mission was established in 1981, with aim of expanding the work from health to education, spiritual and other social services. At present Shivananda Mission is managing Eye Hospital-350 beds, Maternity Hospital 14 beds, General Hospital 20 beds, and 16 beds for De-addiction Hospital. In addition to health services, for Education Sector Shivananda Mission is managing a school (standard 1 to 12), a Bal mandir (Kindergarten), a girls hostel through Virnagar Kelawani Mandal. Social Services like building small check dams, recharging of wells for drinking water, construction of low cost sanitary toilets have been undertaken in the past. Shivananda Mission has been involved in publication and distribution of religious literature as Spiritual Activities.

On Shri Virchand Bapa Panachand Shah Born on 11/05/1888 at village Samadhiyala (present Virnagar) was a rare personality as he devoted his life for the development of rural population. He started his own company in Bombay when he was 32 and earned a good name in business world over.
A divine soul was born to Mother Parvati and Father Vengu Iyyer on 8th September 1887, in a small village called Pattammadai, in southern part of India, he was named Kuppuswamy; later who became SWAMI SHIVANANDAJI. Kuppuswamy was brilliant in both study and sports; he became Doctor.
On 24th September, 1916, Shri Sriniwas Rao and Srimati Sarojini Devi were blessed with a child who was named as Shridhar Rao, who in future became SWAMI CHINANDAJI MAHARAJ, the Gurudev of millions of disciples of Divine life society.In 1938 he completed B.A. but he had strong inclination towards spiritual life so he dedicated his life.
Bapuji was born on 18th December 1906, in Anida village of Gondal (Gujarat), to Mother Parvati and Fater Gaurishanker and was named Bhanushanker. His earlier education was in Bandra Village and then to Gondal and finally passed L.C.P.S. Medical course from Ahmedabad in 1930.
Saurashtra Centrel Hospital is situated in a small village Virnagar, nearby Rajkot (Gujarat). Devotion, hard working and selfless effort of Dr. Adhvaryoo changed the hospital from a small dispensary to largest eye hospital of Gujarat.
